Role of the Board
The role of the Board is to protect the health and safety of the public against misrepresentation, deceit, or fraud in the practice or teaching of barbering. The Board:
- Governs the location and housing of barber shops or schools.
- Governs the quality or equipment, supplies, materials, records, and furnishings required in barber shops or schools.
- Governs the training and supervision of probationary barbers.
- Governs the qualifications of teachers of barbering.
- Governs the hours and courses of instruction at barber schools.
- Governs the examinations of applicants for barber, probationary barber, or teacher of barbering.

All Board Meetings are held on examination day at 12:00 P.M. EST.
All applications for examination are due in the board office by 12:00 P.M. EST. on deadline day.
The Board retains the right to change any test date.

ALL BOARD MEETINGS ARE HELD ON EXAMINATION DAY AT 12:00 P.M. EST.
THE BOARD RETAINS THE RIGHT TO CHANGE/MODIFY ANY TEST DATE.
*All required information must be received by noon on deadline date to qualify for the schedule.
Any mail or deliveries received after noon will be scheduled for the following month.
**If high demand, Instructor Oral and Practical Exams may be given on Sunday. Instructor written available every month.
